About me

My Journey with Math and Teaching

I didn’t truly fall in love with math until the summer before my junior year of high school, while preparing for the SAT. I wasn’t the smartest kid in the room, nor the one struggling the most—I was somewhere near the upper-middle of the pack. That summer, I discovered something remarkable: math isn’t just a rigid, unforgiving subject; it’s generous. If you put in the work to understand its concepts—whether through visuals, intuition, logic, or whatever method clicks for you—math rewards your efforts tenfold. But neglect the fundamentals, and math can quickly transform into a cruel and uncompromising beast.

The Beauty of Mathematics

What captivated me most was the stability and truth math offers. There’s always one correct answer, but countless ways to reach it. The beauty lies in those different paths: the methods, the problem-solving approaches, the interconnected ideas that lead to a singular, elegant solution.

My Passion for Teaching

Over time, I found immense joy not just in solving problems, but in helping others see through the fog of confusion and self-doubt. Explaining tough concepts in ways that feel intuitive and approachable is something I genuinely love. My passion for teaching has led me to:

  • Instruct C++ at the UT Austin CS Academy, where I guided students through complex programming concepts.
  • Design and lead an 8-week programming and software fundamentals camp for my community mosque.
  • Create learning opportunities to empower students and help them build confidence in their abilities.

Now, I’m excited to share my love of learning with you and help you achieve your goals in math and beyond!
